This is the second one-piece mold that I created. While the mold was better made, it was miscast (which is very easy to do with one part molds). I decided that the miscast gave it more of a rough feel, which I actually liked more than the correct casting, so I decided to keep this version. This effect was increase because the 95% Tin, 5% Antimony alloy that I used seems to have cooled differently, resulting in a rougher surface.
Once again, the design was based on the symbol for the Imagawa clan in Shogun: Total War.
It's just a decorative symbol I suppose... it's about 2 inches on either side, so it's a bit too heavy to be a pin. I guess it could either be made into a medalion or set into a wooden plaque.
The main purpose was to get experience making a mold without using an original object.

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
